Is it just me

or does every feminist in the mainstream media assume that a woman’s act of stripping = progress? Why, oh WHY, do women have to take off their clothes in public just to simply make ANY political statement? Show me thousands more images of black women as astronauts, presidents, and as women taking real charge of shit in movies, TV, and novels, and then maybe I’ll consider the desperate and shallow argument that stripping = progress.
Pfsh.

Oh god, yes I totally agree, coupled with the unsettlingness of the end. I love me some Badu but I’m not on board with this video.

Stripping is progress the same way working in a sweat shop is progress compared to doing piece work at home. It isn’t forward progress, but it is change.
